NOVELTY - Catalyst comprises catalyst carrier, active component and heat-conducting material. USE - The catalyst is useful for oxidation of benzene to maleic anhydride (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst: can better conduct and disperse the reaction heat; avoids deep oxidation; improves heat transfer performance; enhances the performance; and has higher benzene conversion rate and maleic anhydride mass yield. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) preparing the catalyst, comprising (i) adding active component to the reducing agent solution, and then adding the heat conducting material after mixing to obtain catalyst active component mixture, (ii) spraying the catalyst active component mixture onto the catalyst carrier, drying, and preparing catalyst precursor, and (iii) activating the catalyst precursor to obtain the catalyst, preferably, in step (i), adding the thermal conductive material and the dispersant at the same time after the mixing; and (2) oxidizing benzene to maleic anhydride, comprising contacting mixed gas containing benzene with the catalyst.
