ADVANTAGE - The electrode material reduces production cost of potassium ion battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Electrode material includes active material of formula K'xAyB'zMw. K'=element potassium; A=vanadium, chromium, manganese, cobalt or nickel; B'=titanium, copper, zinc or iron; M=PO43-, O2-, S2-, NO32-, CO42- or SO42-; x, y and z=1-6; and w=10. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for preparing electrode material, which involves dissolving a substance containing potassium, a substance containing A, a substance containing B and a substance containing M in an acidic solution under stirring to obtain a precursor, and then calcining the precursor to obtain the electrode material; and (2) a potassium ion battery, which comprises a positive electrode and a negative electrode prepared using the electrode material, a separator, and an electrolyte.
