NOVELTY - Fabrication of polyethylene resin layer in a modified graphene reinforced polyethylene/polypropylene composite involves modifying graphene powder with a surface treating agent, forming stable and dispersive modified graphene powder after drying, blending the modified powder with polyethylene and a modified masterbatch through mechanical shearing, forming uniformly blended composite material, plasticizing, granulating by a hot granule cutting method through an extruder, and forming a graphene reinforced polyethylene resin material. USE - Fabrication of polyethylene resin layer in modified graphene reinforced polyethylene/polypropylene composite (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The polyethylene resin layer in the modified graphene reinforced composite has excellent mechanical property, static resistance, and microwave absorption and electromagnetic shielding properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A surface treating agent is dissolved in a solvent to prepare solution having concentration of 1-5 g/100 mL. 0.05-0.2 g Graphene having diameter of 50-140 nm and thickness of 0.5-10 nm is added to 100 mL obtained solution, and dispersed at 1000-4000 rpm for 0.2-1 hour. The solvent is evaporated, and vacuum-dried at 50-70 degrees C to produce modified graphene powder. The modified graphene powder and polyethylene are mixed in weight ratio of 0.1-0.2 at 1000-3000 rpm for 0.5-4 hours to obtain homogeneous mixture. The mixture is supplied to extruder and processed at 100-200 degrees C for 0.3-1 hour to obtain modified graphene reinforced masterbatch. The mixture is placed in extruder and heated at 100-200 degrees C for 0.3-1 hour, and polypropylene-polyethylene resin composite is obtained. The surface treatment agent is 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane, vinyl trimethoxysilane or vinyl triethoxysilane. The solvent is ethanol, isopropanol, acetone, triaminopropyl triethoxysilane, vinyl trimethoxysilane or vinyl triethoxysilane. Polyethylene is low-density polyethylene.
