USE - The photocatalyst is useful for photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange solution (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple. The photocatalyst has photocatalytic degradation effect of 88%. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Producing reduced graphene oxide/cuprous oxide composite photocatalyst comprises (i) preparing graphene oxide by Hummers method: pre-oxidizing graphite, oxidizing, ultrasonic stripping, and washing to neutral using hydrochloric acid solution and deionized water of ratio 1:10 to obtain 3-5 mg/ml concentration graphene oxide solution, and (ii) adding 1-10 ml concentration graphene oxide solution to 100 ml concentration 0.1-0.2 mol mol/l copper sulfate solution, ultrasonic dispersing for 30-60 minutes, constant temperature stirring at 20-30 degrees C, adding 10 ml of 5-10 mol/l sodium hydroxide, stirring for 20-30 minutes, adding 5-10 ml of 0.5-0.7 mol/l concentration hydrazine hydrate, allowing to stand for 3-5 hours, washing the reactant, drying in vacuum drying box at 60 degrees C for 2-3 hours, and grinding into powder.
