NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene oxide-doped silica aerogel by taking tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and ethanol, mixing, adding mixture to beaker, adding 4-9 ml deionized water and 2.5-5.5 ml 0.01 mol/L oxalic acid solution, and magnetic stirring until solution becomes cloudy by clarification; using modified Hummers method, oxidizing with strong oxidant potassium permanganate (KMnO4) graphite powder, and treating to obtain 9.6 mol/ml graphene oxide suspension; and adding 0.25-5 ml graphene oxide suspension dropwise to clear mixture, and stirring. USE - Method for preparing graphene oxide-doped silica aerogel (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The gel has heat insulation property and high mechanical strength. The method has simple process, and low cost. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene oxide-doped silica aerogel comprises taking tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), and ethanol, mixing at molar ratio of 1:4 to 1:7, adding mixture to beaker, adding 4-9 ml deionized water, and 2.5-5.5 ml 0.01 mol/L oxalic acid solution, and magnetic stirring until solution becomes cloudy by clarification; using modified Hummers method, oxidizing with strong oxidant potassium permanganate (KMnO4) graphite powder, and treating to obtain 9.6 mol/ml graphene oxide suspension; adding 0.25-5 ml graphene oxide suspension dropwise to clear mixture, stirring for 10 minutes, ultrasonicating mixture until brown and transparent solution, stirring, and hydrolyzing for 24 hours; and adding 2-7 ml of 0.1 mol/L aqueous ammonia solution to hydrolyzed solution to perform gelation, adding gel with ethanol for protection, aging and solvent replacement for 24-72 hours, and drying in ethanol at supercritical state.
