NOVELTY - Porous biofillers comprises outer porous mineral sphere and an embedded carbon source organic blend in mass ratio of 7.5-8.5:1.5-2.5, the porous mineral sphere has a single channel running through the porous mineral sphere and a porous skeleton structure inside the porous mineral sphere, and the embedded carbon source organic blend forms a slow-release organic carbon source. USE - The porous biofillers is useful for purification of polluted seawater. ADVANTAGE - The porous biofillers: has slow-release carbon source, is beneficial to biological oxidation and reduction; has large specific surface area, connected pore structure, multiple mineral components, slow-release organic carbon source and substances that promote electron transfer, and is not easy to harden; can significantly improve the problems of slow growth and difficult aggregation of water treatment microorganisms caused by high salinity in seawater, and can be used to remove pollutants in polluted seawater, especially for nitrogen removal.
