NOVELTY - Producing graphene oxide using graphite waste, comprises sintering a powder containing graphite and metal, performing acid treatment and electrolysis of the sintered powder, separating graphite waste, adding acid and an oxidizing agent into the separated graphite waste to prepare oxide, and heat treating the prepared oxide to obtain graphene oxide. USE - The method is useful for producing graphene oxide using graphite waste (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method recycles discarded waste, is economical and environmentally friendly.
