NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene sulfide, involves (i) adding flake graphite and potassium nitrate solids in mechanically stirred three-necked flask, (ii) dripping concentrated sulfuric acid, placing in ice bath, stirring, adding potassium permanganate, (iii) removing ice bath, increasing temperature, reacting, (iv) dripping water, increasing temperature, (v) stirring, adding three-necked flask solution to deionized water in a beaker, (vi) adding hydrogen peroxide, washing to obtain graphene oxide, (vii) adding graphene oxide with fuming sulfuric acid and phosphorus pentoxide. USE - Preparation of graphene sulfide (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene sulfide has excellent purity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene sulfide, involves (i) adding flake graphite and potassium nitrate solids in a mechanically stirred three-necked flask, (ii) dripping concentrated sulfuric acid, placing in an ice bath, stirring for 1 hour, slowly adding 7.5 g potassium permanganate, (iii) removing the ice bath, increasing the temperature to 35 degrees C, reacting for 1 hour, (iv) dripping 400 ml water to three-necked flask, increasing the temperature to 98 degrees C, (v) stirring for 15 minutes, adding the three-necked flask solution to 200 mL 60 degrees C deionized water in a beaker equipped with a magnetic stirrer, (vi) adding 25 mL of 30% hydrogen peroxide to a large beaker, washing with 10% diluted hydrochloric acid and water to obtain graphene oxide, (vii) adding 1.0 g graphene oxide to a three-necked flask, slowly adding 35 mL fuming sulfuric acid and adding phosphorus pentoxide to the beaker under the action of stirring, then taking 25 mL thionyl chloride, slowly pouring into the beaker, performing filtration and drying.
