NOVELTY - Preparation of catalytic material comprises preparing graphene oxide dispersion in solvent, adding precursor comprising metal-containing catalyst to prepared dispersion, subjecting mixture to heat treatment to form block-like graphene composite material, drying graphene composite material to remove solvent, and calcining dried graphene composite material in inert atmosphere to obtain catalytic material. The mass ratio of metal element to graphene oxide in precursor is 1:50-3: 1, preferably 1:50-2:1, and more preferably 1:25, 1:10 or 4:10. USE - Method for preparing catalytic material used for synthesis of ammonia (claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for synthesis of ammonia comprising introducing mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen at volume ratio of 1:1-5 into prepared catalytic material, irradiating catalytic material with light source having power of 5-5000 W and wavelength of 190-1200 nm at atmospheric pressure and temperature of 100-600 degrees C, and discharging synthesized ammonia.
