▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Lithium is extracted from an aqueous lithium source (5) by electrochemically extracting dissolved lithium ions from the source in an electrochemical cell that includes housing (1), working electrode (3), counter electrode (4) and aqueous lithium source as electrolyte which separates a working electrode and counter electrode, where the source comprises dissolved lithium ions and dissolved chloride ions, the working electrode comprises a lithium storage material, a binder and an electrically conductive additive, and the dissolved ions are intercalated into the lithium material at a working potential of the electrode which is below a threshold potential for the electrochemical formation of chlorine; and electrochemically recovering extracted lithium ions from lithium storage material of working electrode in electrochemical cell, and where the extracted lithium ions are deintercalated into aqueous recovery solution (6). USE - Extraction of lithium from an aqueous lithium source used as basic material for high-performance batteries. ADVANTAGE - The method enables efficient and long term stable lithium extraction and recovery from aqueous lithium sources containing dissolved lithium. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for lithium-recovery unit comprising an electrochemical cell which electrochemically extracts dissolved lithium ions from an aqueous lithium source (5) which comprises the dissolved lithium ions and dissolved chloride ions using the aqueous lithium source as an electrolyte in the electrochemical cell, and electrochemically deintercalates the extracted lithium ions from the lithium storage material of working electrode (3) into an aqueous recovery solution (6) using the aqueous recovery solution as an electrolyte in the electrochemical cell.
