NOVELTY - Membrane separation system comprises a membrane module, and a membrane positioned within the membrane module. The membrane definiens a membrane surface and pores opening onto the membrane surface. The membrane includes immobilized nanocarbon on the membrane surface and within the pores to define a nanocarbon-immobilized membrane. USE - Membrane separation system. ADVANTAGE - The membrane separation system utilizes a nanocarbon membrane module to effect desired separations, and very high permeation rate in a simple and cost-effective manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for carrying out separation using the membrane separation system, which involves providing a membrane module including membrane, and feeding a feed mixture to the membrane to separate fluids included within the feed mixture into a permeate and a retentate.
