▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - A method for preparing amorphous nickel-boron film using successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) comprises (a) preparing a nickel precursor solution, reducing agent solution, and stabilizing solution for preparation of film, and (b) preparing a film by dipping substrate in precursor solution prepared in step (a) arranged in six beakers in sequence. USE - The method is used for preparing amorphous nickel-boron film, which is used as durable, highly active, bi-functional catalyst, as cathode and anode catalyst in electrochemical water splitting cell for liberation of hydrogen in both acidic and basic electrolyte solution (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method involves a simple dipping process for preparation of nickel-boron thin film. The nickel-boron film ensures electro-catalytic hydrogen and oxygen evolution by water splitting with good catalytic performance. The preparation method is economical, involves simple setup, does not require maintaining pH, does not require any instrumentation, ensures work at room temperature, excellent thickness control, controlled chemical composition, and repeatability and is suitable for wide area deposition. The amorphous nickel-boron film has high catalytic efficiency, stability, durability and is the most ideal catalyst for substituting the high cost noble metal based catalyst.
