NOVELTY - A tobacco shred additive is obtained by dispersing graphene oxide in water ultrasonically to obtain homogeneous solution with graphene oxide concentration of 0.1-0.3 wt.%. USE - Tobacco shred additive. ADVANTAGE - The additive has good cooling effect, and effectively reduces release of harmful substance of cigarette, and a cigarette combustion suction quality. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for the following: (1) a method for preparing a tobacco shred additive, which involves carrying out low temperature oxidation reaction by using 6-12 pts. wt. graphite powder, 255-325 pts. wt. sulfuric acid and 2.5-6.5 pts. wt. sodium nitrate in an ice-water bath to obtain a uniform mixed solution, followed by adding the mixed solution in 22.5-37.5 pts. wt. potassium permanganate at less than 20 degrees C, carrying out low-temperature oxidation is carried out in water bath at 35-45 degrees C for 25-35 minutes, adding 8-28 pts. wt. deionized water by stirring for 12-20 minutes to obtain low-temperature oxidation reaction solution, carrying out high temperature oxidation reaction at oxidation temperature of 48-70 degrees C, adding hydrogen peroxide till excess potassium permanganate from the reaction solution to be removed, and performing centrifugal separation of the resultant solution at a rotating speed of 7000-7400 rpm for 7-15 minutes to obtain a powdery graphene oxide, dispersing the powdery graphene oxide in water under ultrasonic frequency of 0.06-0.08 w/cm3 (2) a method for utilizing a tobacco shred additive in the production of cigarettes, which involves spraying tobacco shred additive on surface of cut tobacco by using high pressure sprayer, controlling tobacco shred temperature of 22 plus minus 2 degrees C and relative humidity of 60 plus minus 5% RH for 65-79 hours, rolling the cut tobacco to obtain cigarette product.
