NOVELTY - The apparatus has an impact head (16) provided with an impact face perpendicular or perpendicular to principal axis. The impact head and a conduit (12, 242) are arranged such that an annular gap between an end of the conduit and the impact head, where the gap forms a continuous region surrounding the end of the conduit. An impact head surround (26) extends the region in which the fluid is constrained before exiting core components (10). The impact head is symmetric about longitudinal axis, which is in line with the principal axis such that the symmetry allows rotation of the impact head. USE - Apparatus for producing Graphene and atomic scale laminar materials by delamination of a bulk laminar material i.e. graphite. ADVANTAGE - The apparatus provides location clearance fit for precise accuracy requirements, which can be assembled without force. The apparatus provides minimal clearances for high accuracy requirements, while blockage avoided by using finer starting material by reducing feedstock size. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for facilitating exfoliation of laminar materials to produce atomic scale laminar materials by delamination of bulk material.
