NOVELTY - Manufacture of positive electrode material involves (a) mixing a Prussian white solution and a graphene oxide solution, (b) spray-drying to prepare a powder of graphene oxide bound to the surface of the Prussian white, and (c) heat-treating the powder to reduce graphene oxide bound to the surface of the Prussian white. The Prussian white solution comprises metal-cyanide compound (I). USE - Manufacture of material used for forming electrode such as positive electrode of secondary battery (all claimed) such as sodium-ion secondary battery. Uses include but are not limited to small information technology equipment, power tools, electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles. ADVANTAGE - The method enables the effective manufacture of positive electrode material effectively prevents the inflow of crystal water into the structure of the Prussian white through proper heat treatment and provides the secondary battery having excellent initial capacity and durability and cycle characteristics by inserting metal ions in place in which crystal water is located and increasing initial capacity by discharging the metal ions to low voltage during charging and discharging. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Manufacture of cathode material for a secondary battery, involves (a) mixing a Prussian white solution and a graphene oxide solution,(b) spray-drying to prepare a powder of graphene oxide bound to the surface of the Prussian white, and (c) heat-treating the powder to reduce graphene oxide bound to the surface of the Prussian white. The Prussian white solution comprises a metal-cyanide compound of formula: AxMa(Mb(CN)6) (I). A = alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal; Ma,Mb = transition metals; x = 0-2; a = 0-1;and b = 0-1. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) manufacture of electrode; (2) electrode, which comprises a positive electrode active material; and (3) method of charging and discharging secondary battery.
