NOVELTY - Preparation of cobalt selenide supercapacitor material involves washing and drying foamed nickel as a working electrode, scanning in a graphene oxide dispersion by a cyclic voltammetry, drying, obtaining a graphene oxide-foamed nickel electrode, mixing a sodium selenite solution and a cobalt(II) acetate solution, adding lithium acetate solution, mixing, obtaining a precursor solution, immersing the graphene oxide-foamed nickel electrode in the precursor solution, depositing cobalt selenide nanomaterial on the surface of the graphene oxide-foamed nickel electrode by an electrochemical deposition method, washing obtained product with deionized water and ethanol, and drying. USE - Preparation of cobalt selenide material used as electrode material of supercapacitor. ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of cobalt selenide material with improved specific capacitance and charge-discharge cycle performance. The cobalt selenide material maintains specific capacitance of more than 87%, at current density of 20 A/g, after 5000 charge-discharge cycles.
