NOVELTY - Cathode material comprises alumina/graphene composite coated modified graphite material, where the aluminum oxide and graphene uniformly coated on the surface of the graphite material by forming a composite material. The alumina/graphene composite material is obtained by dispersing graphene oxide in a metaaluminate solution, reacting with a weak acid, aging and baking to obtain an alumina/graphene oxide composite material, and calcining in a protective gas to obtain an alumina/graphene composite. The graphite material comprises natural graphite, artificial graphite, and/or graphite materials treated in other ways. USE - The material is useful in lithium ion batteries (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material improves the cycle performance of the battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for manufacturing the material.
