NOVELTY - Preparing intumescent halogen-free flame retardant comprises using expandable graphene oxide as the carbon source, mechanically exfoliating hexagonal boron nitride into dense cubic boron nitride (DBN), coating with polydopamine (PDA) as the gas source to obtain D-BN loaded PDA, performing in-situ doping by hydrothermal method to prepare expandable graphene oxide (EGO)/DBN loaded PDA, and combining with guanylurea phosphate as an acid source to form an intumescent halogen-free flame retardant GPU/EGO/D-BN loaded PDA. USE - The method is useful for preparing intumescent halogen-free flame retardant, which is useful in the preparation of thermoplastic polyurethane composites. ADVANTAGE - The thermoplastic polyurethane composites produced by intumescent halogen-free flame retardant has good flame retardant property, and generates great social and economic benefits. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: intumescent halogen-free flame retardant; and using method of intumescent halogen-free flame retardant in the preparation of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) composites, comprising melting and mixing the intumescent halogen-free flame retardant and TPU particles, extruding and granulating, preparing TPU modified master batch, and preparing TPU composite material with good flame retardant properties.
