NOVELTY - Composite aerogel is prepared by loading monodisperse gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) on the reduced graphene oxide (RGO) aerogel, where the diameter of composite aerogel is 12 mm and height is 30 mm, and the loading of gold is 4.8%. USE - The aerogel is useful for catalytic reduction of 4-NP wastewater (claimed) and catalytic material preparation and environmental purification application. ADVANTAGE - The aerogel has excellent catalytic performance, reduce 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol, is simple, economical, beneficial to large-scale industrial production and easy to operate, reduces the use of precious metals, broadens practical applications, and has significant economic and social benefits. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing the composite aerogel involving preparing aerogel by reduction hydrothermal method.
