▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Electrochemical sensor fordetection of Plasmodium species comprises a working electrode (9) which comprises gold-reduced graphene oxide (Au-rGO) nanocomposite (4) deposited on a carbon strip; a circular head (2) attached to a copper wire (3) through silver conductive adhesive paste over which the Au-rGO nanocomposite is deposited; a counter electrode (5); and reference electrode (6). The three electrode system is kept inside a beaker containing electrolyte solution (7). The antibody coated on each working electrode is specific to a particular species of Plasmodium. USE - The electrochemical sensor is useful for detection of Plasmodium species (claimed); and for diagnosing malaria. ADVANTAGE - The sensor detects malaria at low RBCs concentration with sample volume as low as 10 mu l. Detection of both Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax can take place. The sensor for malaria diagnosis is simple and easy. It is cost effective and early detection of malaria can be achieved even when parasite concentration is low. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a schematic views of steps of formation of working electrode, and detection set-up with the fabricated working electrode.
