NOVELTY - Preparing graphene quantum dots with adjustable oxygen content comprises using graphite materials as the working electrode and the counter electrode to form the first electrochemical system with the first electrolyte, and performing pre-oxidation treatment under the first AC electric field, making working electrode and the counter electrode that have gone through the pre-oxidation step and the second electrolyte to form second electrochemical system, setting a predetermined distance value between the working electrode and the counter electrode, and performing electrochemical peeling reaction under second AC electric field. USE - The graphene quantum dots is useful for biological imaging or fluorescence detection (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method can control the preparation of graphene quantum dots with different oxidation degrees by controlling the electrode spacing, and solves the problems of the difficulty of large-scale preparation of graphene quantum dots with high oxygen content and the difficulty of adjusting the oxygen content in the prior art.
