NOVELTY - A graphene quantum dot is prepared using waste tire microwave-assisted method by crushing waste tire to particle size of 0.1-10 mm, uniformly mixing with ferric oxide particles with diameter of 0.05-1 mm, putting in microwave tubular reactor, introducing nitrogen to exhaust air in reaction system, passing nitrogen through absolute ethanol, controlling temperature of absolute ethanol to 55-65 degrees C, passing nitrogen gas carrying absolute ethanol into microwave tubular reactor, starting microwave tubular reactor, heating to 450-650 degrees C at microwave frequency of 2.45 GHz, microwave power of 1000-1500 W and heating speed of 80-250 degrees C/minute, heat preserving for 5-20 minutes, condensing generated depolymerization vapor at - 35?C, taking collected liquid pyrolysis oil, drying pyrolysis oil to obtain solid substance, adding 20-50 pts. wt. deionized water to 1 pt. wt. solid substance, uniformly stirring, transferring solution to PTFE reactor, reacting to 150-250 degrees C for 8-20 hours and cooling. USE - The method is used for preparing graphene quantum dot using waste tire microwave-assisted method. ADVANTAGE - The method opens up new way for high-value utilization of waste tires.
