NOVELTY - Preparation of ferric oxide/expanded graphite composite material involves mixing expanded graphene as carrier and ferrocene as precursor of ferric oxide in a mass ratio of 1:2-16, reacting the mixture at 350-550 degrees C for 1-16 hours in high-pressure reactor and cooling. USE - Preparation of ferric oxide/expanded graphite composite material used for negative electrode (claimed) of common or flexible lithium ion battery. ADVANTAGE - The method enables simple and economical preparation of ferric oxide/expanded graphite composite material. The lithium ion battery using the composite material has high capacity, and excellent cycle characteristics and rate performance.
