NOVELTY - Preparing a modified aqueous polyurethane dispersion comprises (i) dissolving graphene oxide in solvent to obtain a solution; (ii) mixing a polycarbonate diol and aliphatic diisocyanate to obtain a prepolymer reaction liquid; (iii) adding polypropylene glycol, diethylene glycol, catalyst, solution and chain extender into prepolymer reaction solution to obtain a catalytic chain extension reaction product; and (iv) adding a neutralizing agent and water optionally into the chain extension reaction product and carrying out emulsification reaction. USE - The method is useful for preparing a modified aqueous polyurethane dispersion. ADVANTAGE - The method: introduces graphene oxide into the polyurethane segment; reduces difficulty of operation; and produces dispersion with excellent dispersion stability and long shelf life. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) modified aqueous polyurethane dispersion, prepared as mentioned above; and (2) surface finishing agent, comprising 80-100 pts. wt. modified aqueous polyurethane dispersion.
