NOVELTY - The planar field emission device has field emission hole that is formed in thin-film graphene film. A drop of graphene oxide solution is placed on the first glass plate. The second glass plate is covered on the first glass plate to prepare a specimen. The prepared specimen is put in a thermal vacuum chamber. The heat is applied to evaporate the water of the graphene oxide solution to form a graphene thin film. The formed graphene thin film is reduced. A field emission source is manufactured by forming one field emission hole in the reduced graphene thin film. USE - Field emission device for self-diagnosis and disease diagnosis in health/medical fields such as non-destructive testing and bio-imaging. ADVANTAGE - The field emission device has high current density, practical output current and long-term stable field emission characteristics. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a schematic view of manufacturing graphene used as a field emission source in a method of manufacturing a field emission device.
