NOVELTY - Preparation of transition metal oxide/graphene composite involves mixing transition metal (M1) salt, water and solution of graphite oxide dispersed in polyol solvent, applying microwave to the mixed solution to form composite, mixing obtained composite with transition metal (M2) salt to obtain transition metal (M1M2) oxide/graphene composite. The metals in salts (M1) and (M2) are lithium, ruthenium, nickel, vanadium, cobalt, manganese, iron or titanium. USE - Preparation of transition metal oxide/graphene composite e.g. spinel-type lithium titanium oxide/graphene composite used as electrode material of lithium secondary battery. ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of transition metal oxide/graphene composite having high electrochemical performance. The batteries using the composite have high capacity, improved lifespan and stable charging/discharging cycles.
