NOVELTY - A coated silicon negative electrode material comprises a silicon-containing active material and nanocellulose uniformly coated on the outer surface of silicon-containing active material. USE - Coated silicon negative electrode material used in lithium-ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The negative electrode material has improved comprehensive performance due to suppressed expansion and aging of the silicon-containing active material during the cycle due to improved adhesion between the nanocellulose and the surface of the silicon-containing active material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the negative electrode material, which involves (S1) adding a coating material and the silicon-containing active material into a solvent for wet mixing to obtain a uniformly mixed slurry, and removing the solvent in the slurry to obtain a solvent-free mixture dry powder, and (S2) grinding the solvent-free mixture dry powder. The coating material is nanocellulose, or mixture of nanocellulose and conductive agent.
