NOVELTY - Lithium-ion positive electrode material comprises a positive electrode material layer, a spinel layer coated on the surface of the positive electrode material layer, and lithium nickel oxide coated on the surface of the spinel layer. The spinel layer includes nickel stannate-reduced graphene oxide. USE - Lithium-ion positive electrode material. ADVANTAGE - The lithium-ion positive electrode material is a modified cathode material with a layered-spinel-layered structure gradient, where the structure can show excellent high-voltage cycling stability and rate capability when applied to a lithium ion battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Lithium-ion positive electrode material comprises a positive electrode material layer of formula LiNixCoyMnzO2, a spinel layer coated on the surface of the positive electrode material layer, and lithium nickel oxide coated on the surface of the spinel layer. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for preparing lithium-ion positive electrode material, which involves carrying out co-precipitation reaction on a tin source and a nickel source in alkali liquor to obtain a precursor material, mixing the precursor material with a positive electrode material and then sintering to obtain the lithium-ion positive electrode material; and (2) a lithium-ion battery, which comprises a positive electrode material and a negative electrode material, where the positive electrode material is the lithium-ion positive electrode material.
