NOVELTY - Functionalized graphene oxide, reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer agent, ionic template, functional monomer, crosslinking agent and initiator, are added a mixture of methanol and water, reacted under anaerobic condition in an oil bath, washed, dried, further washed with hydrochloric acid and deionized water until neutral and dried to obtain active/controllable graphene oxide surface ion imprinted polymer. USE - Preparation of ion imprinted polymer used for adsorbing metal ions in aqueous solution (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method efficiently provides active/controllable graphene oxide surface ion imprinted polymer having excellent adsorption characteristics and recycling property, and selective separation characteristics. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Graphene oxide and silane coupling agent are added to ethanol, refluxed in an oil bath, washed, and dried to obtain functionalized graphene oxide. Sodium hydroxide solution is dripped gradually in carbon disulfide, acetone, chloroform, and mixture containing tetrabutylammonium bisulfate and petroleum ether, stirred, and the solid portion is dissolved by adding deionized water. Concentrated hydrochloric acid is added to the resultant mixture, reacted under anaerobic condition, filtered, washed and dried to obtain reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer agent. The obtained functionalized graphene oxide, reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer agent, ionic template, functional monomer, crosslinking agent and initiator, are added a mixture of methanol and water, reacted under anaerobic condition in an oil bath, washed, dried, further washed with hydrochloric acid and deionized water until neutral and dried to obtain active/controllable graphene oxide surface ion imprinted polymer.
