NOVELTY - Preparation of metal nanoparticle-carbon composite involves preparing a mixed solution comprising a thiometalate precursor and a carbon support, forming a thiometalate-carbon complex by heat-treating the mixed solution, and heat-treating the thiometalate-carbon complex. USE - Preparation of metal nanoparticle-carbon composite used in electrochemical catalyst for fuel cell electrode (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method produces metal nanoparticle-carbon composite having high size uniformity and dispersion and excellent durability. The electrochemical catalyst has excellent catalytic activity, high durability, and prevents deterioration of fuel cell performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for metal nanoparticle-carbon composites.
