NOVELTY - The synthesis of adsorbent involves (1) dispersing graphene oxide to form dispersion of graphene oxide, (2) adding zirconium (IV) oxychloride octahydrate, iron (II) chloride and iron (III) chloride solution, controlling temperature, (3) increasing temperature, adjusting pH, continuously stirring, naturally cooling, adding polyethylene imine, allowing to stand, freeze-drying, (4) resulting products are magnetic three dimensional graphene-zirconium (IV) hydroxide composite adsorption material, and fluoride ion that exhibits excellent adsorption properties. USE - Synthesis of three dimensional magnetic graphene composite adsorbent using pot method, used in treatment of large volume fluoride polluted wastewater. ADVANTAGE - The method enables synthesis of three dimensional magnetic graphene composite adsorbent in mild condition, with simple operation, without the need for separating operation, and is suitable for mass production and economical, and shows excellent adsorption performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The synthesis of magnetic graphene composite adsorbent involves (1) ultrasonically dispersing graphene oxide to form uniform dispersion of graphene oxide, (2) adding zirconium (IV) oxychloride octahydrate, iron (II) chloride and iron (III) chloride solution to graphene oxide dispersion, controlling temperature at 50 degrees C, where front end of the reaction does not require additional separation operations, (3) increasing temperature to 80 degrees C, adjusting pH to 10, continuously stirring, naturally cooling to room temperature, adding solution of polyethylene imine, allowing to stand for 24 hours at 25 degrees C, freeze-drying to obtain the final product, (4) resulting products are magnetic three dimensional graphene-zirconium (IV) hydroxide composite adsorption material, and fluoride ion that exhibits excellent adsorption properties.
