▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Decontaminating surfaces from human coronaviruses, comprises exposing a human coronavirus and a decontamination layer (508) in contact with the human coronavirus to UV radiation and/or visible light, where the decontamination layer comprises a nanostructured photocatalyst. USE - The method is useful for decontaminating surfaces from human coronaviruses comprising severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, human coronavirus NL63, human coronavirus OC43 and/or human coronavirus 229E (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is effective in a short period and mitigates the spread of viruses. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for (1) a structure for decontamination, comprising a first surface and the decontamination layer on the first surface; and (2) a system comprising the structure and an illumination source that generates UV radiation and/or visible light and exposes the decontamination layer of the structure to the UV radiation and/or visible light. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The figure illustrates a simplified interior view of an air-handling device employing the photocatalytic approach for viral decontamination.
