NOVELTY - Preparing graphene quantum dot comprises (i) taking benzoic acid as carbon source, and then paving in gas-phase detonation tube, (ii) sealing the gas-phase detonation tube, vacuumizing, then heating the gas phase detonation tube to more than 100 degrees C, and sublimating benzoic acid, (iii) filling the gas phase detonation tube with hydrogen and oxygen gases, (iv) subjecting the gas phase detonation tube to explosion, and (v) stopping heating, cooling the gas phase detonation tube, opening the vapor in detonation tube, and collecting black product to obtain graphene quantum dot powder. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene quantum dot. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, efficient, and suitable for fast large scale synthesis of graphene quantum dots.
