NOVELTY - A silicon-based carbon composite has a core-shell structure, in which core comprises silicon, silicon oxide compound and magnesium silicate, and shell comprises at least two carbon layers comprising a carbon layer (a) and a carbon layer (b), which is reduced graphene oxide. USE - Silicon-based carbon composite for anode active material for lithium secondary battery (all claimed) used as power supply for electronic devices. ADVANTAGE - The silicon-based carbon composite provides anode active material capable of forming secondary battery having high charging and discharging capacity, initial charging and discharging efficiency and capacity retention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) manufacture of the silicon-based carbon composite, which involves producing silicon-silicon complex oxide, pulverizing and classifying such that the average particle diameter of the silicon-silicon complex oxide is 3-15 mu m to obtain a silicon-silicon complex oxide powder, forming carbon layer (a) on the surface of the silicon-silicon composite oxide powder, and forming carbon layer (b) on the surface of the carbon layer (a); and (2) anode active material containing the silicon-based carbon composite.
