NOVELTY - Manufacture of an object from a fiber and/or fabric reinforced composite material includes creating a first layer of the proof coating; creating a mixture of the fiber and/or fabric reinforcement material and the first matrix; locating the mixture of the fiber and/or fabric reinforcement material and the first matrix; and using proof coating containing a second matrix dispersed with graphene nanoplates, grapene oxide nanoplates, reduced graphene oxide nanoplates, bilayer graphene nanoplates, bilayer graphene oxide nanoplates, bilayer reduced graphene oxide nanoplates, layer graphene nanoplates, layer graphene oxide nanoplates, and layer reduced graphene oxide nanoplates. USE - The method is used for manufacturing an object from a fiber and/or fabric reinforced composite material. ADVANTAGE - The method reduces the rate of permeation of water or other liquid into the structural element of the object being manufactured, and the fibers and/or fabrics bonded in a matrix. The damage to the structural properties of the object from the water and/or other liquids is reduced. This leads to an increased life span for the object manufactured by the method. This also leads to the designer of an object being able to include less material in the design because they do not have to compensate for the damage expected from the water and/or other liquid. The use of less material in the method results in environmental and economic benefits. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Manufacture of an object from a fiber and/or fabric reinforced composite material comprising a first layer of a proof coating, a first matrix, and fiber(s) and/or fabric reinforcement materials, comprises: (A) creating a first layer of the proof coating having a first face proximal to a first surface of the object expected to be exposed to water or other liquids and a second face remote from the first surface; (B) creating a mixture of the fiber and/or fabric reinforcement material and the first matrix; (C) locating the mixture of the fiber and/or fabric reinforcement material and the first matrix against the second face of the first proof coating layer, or locating the second face of the first proof coating layer against the mixture of the fiber and/or fabric reinforcement material and the first matrix; and (D) using proof coating containing a second matrix dispersed with graphene nanoplates, grapene oxide nanoplates, reduced graphene oxide nanoplates, bilayer graphene nanoplates, bilayer graphene oxide nanoplates, bilayer reduced graphene oxide nanoplates, layer graphene nanoplates, layer graphene oxide nanoplates, layer reduced graphene oxide nanoplates, graphene/graphilic nanoplates of 6-14 layers of carbon, graphite flakes with nanoscale dimensions and less than or equal to 40 layers of carbon, graphite flakes with nanoscale dimensions and 25-30 layers of carbon, graphite flakes with nanoscale dimensions and 25-35 layers of carbon, graphite flakes with nanoscale dimensions and 20-35 layers of carbon, or graphite flakes with nanoscale dimensions and 20-40 layers of carbon. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a kit comprising proof coating and instructions for use of the proof coating in the method.
