NOVELTY - Preparing superhydrophobic polymer/titanium-based photocatalytic aerogel block material comprises (i) mixing oil phase and distilled water at room temperature in a mixer, where oil phase is 1-5 wt.% gelling agent, 3-10 wt.% initiator, 3-10 wt.% crosslinking agent, 5-10 wt.% hydrophobic titanium-based photocatalyst and 70-85 wt.% monomer, hydrophobic titanium-based photocatalyst is titanium dioxide (TiO2), TiO2/ carbon nitride(C3N4), TiO2/graphene oxide, TiO2/ C3N4/graphene oxide, TiO2/silver-silver chloride, TiO2/bismuth tungstate hydrophobized with silane coupling agent, monomer is methyl methacrylate, ethyl methacrylate, tert-butyl methacrylate, ethyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, vinyl acetate, butylene acetate and/or styrene; and (ii)pre-polymerizing gel emulsion at 40-50 degrees C for 1-3 hours and heating to 70-85 degrees C for 3-5 hours, washing and drying block material, soaking in hydrophobic nano slicondioxide sol for 10-60 minutes for superhydrophobic treatment, washing and drying. USE - The material is useful in field of water treatment and oil-water separation. ADVANTAGE - The material has excellent adsorption and photocatalytic activity, super-hydrophobicity, high strength and toughness and large block morphology; and is convenient to realize the device design and recycling of materials.
