NOVELTY - Lithium-sulfur battery cathode active material, is claimed. The cathode active material is composite material. The composite material comprises graphene, elemental sulfur and carbon-coated nickel nanomaterials. The content of the graphene is 5-20 wt.%, the content of the elemental sulfur is 60-90 wt.%, and the content of nickel is 0.5-10 wt.% based on the total weight of the composite material. USE - Used as lithium-sulfur battery cathode active material. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and economical. The active material: suppresses the shuttle effect of polysulfide ion intermediates in the battery reaction process; at the same time, can catalyze the electrochemical conversion of sulfur-containing substances; provides active sites for electrochemical reactions; and improves the utilization rate of active sulfur. The lithium-sulfur battery has high specific capacity and long cycle life.
