NOVELTY - Preparing composite ternary cathode material comprises (a) adding graphene oxide to water to obtain solution A, storing, adding reducing metal salt solution to acid solution to obtain solution B, storing, (b) mixing solution A and solution B, ultrasonically dispersing to obtain solution C, (c) stirring and reacting the solution C, filtering, washing the filter residue, drying to obtain a graphene/metal oxide composite, (d) dispersing the graphene/metal oxide composite in water to form a solution, adding a ternary material, stirring the solution, filtering and vacuum drying to obtain a cathode material precursor and (e) sintering the cathode material precursor in an inert atmosphere to obtain the composite ternary cathode material. USE - The material is useful in lithium ion battery. ADVANTAGE - The material improves the rate performance and the cycle performance of the lithium ion battery material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a cathode sheet comprising a copper foil and the composite ternary cathode material, where the composite ternary cathode material is coated on a surface of the copper foil; and (2) a lithium-ion battery comprising a cathode sheet, a separator, an electrolyte and the anode sheet, where the cathode sheet and the anode sheet are inserted into the electrolyte and the separator separates the cathode sheet from the anode sheet.
