NOVELTY - Battery comprises: a lithium anode (102); an electrolyte (104) having a high solubility for lithium ions and oxygen; and a thin graphene cathode (108) formed on a substrate, so that lithium ions migrate from the lithium anode through the electrolyte to form lithium peroxide at a surface of the thin graphene cathode. USE - The battery is useful as a lithium-oxygen battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The battery utilizes the electrolyte with high solubility for lithium ions and oxygen. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) forming the battery, comprising forming the thin graphene cathode on a substrate, providing the lithium anode, and providing the electrolyte between the thin graphene cathode and the lithium anode.
