NOVELTY - Graphene electrodes are synthesized by combining graphite oxide with water to form aqueous dispersion of graphene oxide, electro-polishing aluminum foil, spin-coating aqueous graphene oxide on electro-polished aluminum foil, applying thin coat of polyurethane on aluminum foil coated with graphene oxide, drying film to form graphene oxide paper, reducing aluminum foil with polyurethane and graphene oxide to graphene by using nascent hydrogen and xenon flash, pouring polymer gelled electrolyte to form graphene electrodes, and fabricating supercapacitors using the graphene electrodes. USE - Synthesis of graphene electrodes for designing supercapacitors (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene-based supercapacitor has increased energy density while retaining power density and achieving extremely long cycle life. The production method of graphene electrodes is designed using the principle of reducing graphene oxide using nascent hydrogen and further reducing using powerful xenon flash, avoiding the restacking of graphene sheets.
