NOVELTY - An iron/iron carbide embedded nitrogen-doped carbon composite material is prepared by subjecting carbon-based material, nitrogen source, iron salt, and organic acid to solvothermal reaction and calcining. USE - Iron/iron carbide embedded N-doped carbon composite material used in preparing microbial fuel cell for generation of energy source material (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The iron/iron carbide embedded N-doped carbon composite material has excellent electrical conductivity and electrogenesis property. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for microbial fuel cell, which comprises the iron/iron carbide embedded N-doped carbon composite material as cathode catalyst.
