NOVELTY - Lithium supplement material comprises a metallic lithium particle and a conductive material, where the conductive material comprises built-in segment embedded in the metallic lithium particle and an exposed segment located outside the metallic lithium particle. The electronic conductivity of the conductive material is greater than 100 s/cm. USE - Lithium supplement material used in lithium-ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The lithium compensation material can realize electron conduction between the metallic lithium particle and negative electrode active material by using conductive material, and thus increases channels for electron conduction, facilitates transportation and rapid intercalation process of the lithium ions, significantly improves lithium compensation efficiency, effectively suppresses formation of dead lithium, and prevents safety hazard caused by a dendrite being formed and piercing a battery separator. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for preparing a lithium supplement material, which involves mixing a dispersion liquid containing molten metal lithium and another dispersion liquid containing conductive materials at a temperature to obtain a mixture, cooling the mixed material to solidification of lithium metal, and then performing solid-liquid separation to obtain a lithium supplement material; and (2) a lithium ion battery, which comprises negative electrode, a current collector, a negative electrode active material, and the lithium supplement material.
