NOVELTY - Preparing graphene material by microwave radiation in vacuum or inert gas comprises putting dried oxidized graphite particle to vacuum chamber of the microwave chamber, pumping pressure in the vacuum chamber up to (4-8)x 10-2 Torr; filling the gas to the vacuum chamber till residual oxygen in the vacuum chamber is removed cleanly; starting microwave radiation till the oxidized graphite explodes and dissociate; closing the microwave radiation; filling the pressure of the vacuum chamber up to atmosphere state; and collecting the exploded and reduced oxidized graphite powder. USE - Method for preparing graphene material by microwave radiation in vacuum or inert gas. ADVANTAGE - The method heats the oxidized graphite at short time, heats and reduces the oxidized graphite immediately, and makes the graphite swell quickly to release lots of gas. The vacuum chamber effectively avoids the oxygen from contacting the graphene, avoids the graphite from burning during the high-temperature reduction and improves reduction yield. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene material by microwave radiation in vacuum or inert gas comprises: (A) putting the dried oxidized graphite particle to vacuum chamber of microwave chamber, closing the top cover of the vacuum chamber; (B) pumping the pressure in the vacuum chamber up to a vacuum state of (4-8)x 10-2 Torr; (C) filling the gas to the vacuum chamber till the pressure is more than 100 Torr; (D) pumping the pressure of the vacuum chamber up to (4-8)x 10-2 Torr; (E) repeating steps (C) and (D) 2-3 times till the residual oxygen in the vacuum chamber is removed cleanly; (F) starting the microwave radiation till the oxidized graphite explodes and dissociate, where the microwave power is 500-10000 W and the microwave radiation is 5-300 seconds; (G) closing the microwave radiation; filling the pressure of the vacuum chamber up to atmosphere state; and (H) opening the top cover of the vacuum chamber, collecting the exploded and reduced oxidized graphite powder.
