NOVELTY - A latex-modified graphene phenolic resin composite contains 300 pts. wt. phenol, 100-250 pts. wt. 35-40 mass% aqueous formaldehyde, 3-15 pts. wt. 35-45% latex, 0.1-5 pts. wt. graphite oxide, and 1-10 pts. wt. acid catalyst. USE - Latex-modified graphene phenolic resin composite for brake pads (claimed) of cars and trains. ADVANTAGE - The latex-modified graphene phenolic resin composite does not wear easily, has long service life, good heat conductivity, high impact strength, high temperature resistance, and simple post-processing. Preparation is simple, easy to operate, low-cost, and reduces water generation, and avoid defects. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of latex-modified graphene phenolic resin composite mixing 300 pts. wt. phenol, 100-250 pts. wt. 35-40 mass% aqueous formaldehyde with 35-40 mass%, and 1-10 pts. wt. acid catalyst, mechanically stirring, gradually heating to 80 degrees C, adding 0.1-5 pts. wt. graphite oxide, dispersing in solution by ultrasonicating to obtain 0.25-9 mg/ml graphite oxide solution, maintaining temperature at 80-95 degrees C, ultrasonically reacting for 1-3 hours, adding certain amount of formaldehyde and acid catalyst, maintaining temperature at 80-95 degrees C for 1.5-3 hours, adjusting to neutral pH using aqueous sodium hydroxide solution, dropwise adding 3-15 pts. wt. 35-45% latex, adding 0.5-5 g ethylene bis-stearamide, vigorously stirring for 2-20 minutes, vacuum dehydrating until 120-180 degrees C, quickly discharging to observe color of pure solid latex-modified graphene phenolic resin obtained, mixing curing agent, reinforcing fibers, friction modifiers, performance regulators, and filler in mold, hydraulically pressing under vacuum at 150-180 degrees C, and 10-40 MPa for 10-30 minutes, demolding at 160-180 degrees C and preserving heat for 2-6 hours.
