NOVELTY - Water purification device (100) comprises: a housing comprising a base having an outlet port, side walls coupled with the base and a top wall coupled to an upper end of the side walls and having an inlet port to receive contaminated water to be filtered; at least one first layer (102); at least one second layer (104); at least one third layer (106); and at least one fourth layer (108) configured in the housing for filtering the received water, where the first layer comprises sediments to restrict flow of a first set of contaminants of the received water, the second layer comprises an adsorbent to absorb a second set of contaminants of the received water, and the third layer comprises micro fiber mesh to restrict passage of a third set of contaminants of the received water, and the fourth layer comprises a foam to lower Total Dissolved Solids of the received water. USE - The device is useful for removing water contaminants like arsenic, pathogen, and bacteria, unwanted salt, iron, cations, anions, and fluorides from water. ADVANTAGE - The device: utilizes first layer, second and third layer ensures sediments to restrict flow of a first set of contaminants of the received water, absorbs a second set of contaminants of the received water, restricts passage of a third set of contaminants of the received water, and lowers Total Dissolved Solids of the received water; is simple and economical.
