NOVELTY - A negative electrode (2) consists of a negative electrode current collector and a negative electrode active material layer provided on the negative electrode current collector. The negative electrode active material layer contains an active material and a composite conductive material including a core containing a carbon-based conductive material, and a coating layer comprising an ion conductive polymer. USE - Negative electrode used for lithium battery (claimed). Uses include but are not limited to laptops, smartphones, electric motors, electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, electric bicycles and electric scooters. ADVANTAGE - Since the volume change of the negative electrode including the metal-based negative electrode active material is suppressed, the lithium battery including the negative electrode has improved energy density and lifespan characteristics.
