NOVELTY - Composite (C1) comprising a polymer matrix and graphite dispersed within the matrix, where the surface area of the graphite is greater than 10 m2/g. USE - The composite is useful in solar thermal collector (claimed), and heat exchangers which is used in battery packaging and powertrains, under the bonnet electronics, automotive lighting, home heat recovery in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), industrial heat recovery, applications using sea water or greywater, general electrical and electronics, e.g. thermal management of motherboards and chips, in healthcare and in aerospace. ADVANTAGE - The composite: has high thermal conductivity; and utilizes PPA in place of other polyamides which can provide an equivalent level of conductivity at lower loadings of graphitic carbon.
