▎ 摘 要

NOVELTY - Anode comprises: (i) a conductive material; (ii) a bacteria; and (iii) a polymer, a catalyst, a mineral, or any combination. The bacteria and the polymer, the catalyst, the mineral, or any combination, are deposited on at least one surface of the anode. USE - The anode or microbial electrochemical system is useful for wastewater (WW) treatment, electricity generation, hydrogen production, or electricity generation (claimed). The anode can also be used in microbial electrolysis cell (MEC). ADVANTAGE - One of the greatest advantages of MEC is the utilization of WW as the fuel leading to electricity generation as well as simultaneous WW treatment through simple hydrogen evolution reaction. The idea of utilizing microorganisms that are present in the substrate (in the case of wastewater) as the biocatalyst makes the process environment friendly and cost-effective. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a microbial electrochemical system comprising the anode and a cathode; and (2) a method which involves: (i) providing the microbial electrochemical system; (ii) contacting the microbial electrochemical system with a carbon source; and (iii) providing a current density to the microbial electrochemical system.
