NOVELTY - A mosaic-coated graphene cathode material comprises nano layered structure lithium manganese oxide layer inlaid on graphene sheet. The material is coated on the positive electrode material of the lithium ion battery at amount of 20-90 wt.% and thickness of less than 15 nm. The lithium ion battery positive electrode material is provided with layered structure, spinel structure or olivine structure of positive electrode material. The ratio of nano layered lithium manganate embedded graphene materials and cathode material is 0.5-10:100. USE - Mosaic-coated graphene cathode material used for lithium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode material solves poor electronic conductivity and ionic conductivity, low-capacity, and poor performance rate problems. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of cathode material comprising redox reacting graphite to prepare 1-2 mg/mL graphene aqueous solution, adding potassium permanganate, mixing, microwave treating at 700-1000 W for 3-5 minutes, centrifuging, washing with deionized water for 6-8 times, freeze-drying, and baking under argon gas atmosphere at 180-300 degrees C for 3-5 hours, where mass ratio of potassium permanganate and graphene is 1:0.5-2; and mixing ethanol and N-methylpyrrolidone at ratio of 1:1-2, mixing, adding product in first step, ultrasonically dispersing for 10-12 hours, oil bath stirring at 110-120 degrees C, mixing with electric conduction agent and binder, coating on current collector to prepare positive pole, assembling to cell, and discharge to 2.7-2.8 V.
