NOVELTY - A functionalized oligothiophene (I), is new. USE - New functionalized oligothiophene used as hole transport material for optoelectronic device, such as solar cells, lasing, light-emitting devices and photodetectors (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The functionalized oligothiophene has excellent stability. The perovskite solar cell has high efficiency and is economical. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A functionalized oligothiophene of formula: A(power of n)B'x (I), is new. A(power of n) = structure comprising n thiophenes in a non-fused arrangement; n = integer; x = 1 to 6; B' = p-(diaryl-amino)-arylene substituent of formula (a); R1a,R1b,R2a,R2b,R3a-R3c,R4a-R4d = H, 1-6C linear or branched alkyl, preferably methyl or ethyl or halo; X1,X2 = alkoxy, -OR5;and R5 = 1-6C linear or branched alkyl, preferably methyl or ethyl. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) manufacture of functionalized oligothiophene; and (2) perovskite solar cell, which comprises a transparent conductive layer, an electron transport layer, a perovskite film, a hole transport layer of the functionalized oligothiophene and an electrode and optionally further comprises one or more of an electron transport layer, an electron-blocking layer and a hole-blocking layer.
